DANCKAERTS, JASPER. [1679–1680] One of two explorers from a dissident Catholic sect, the Labinists, who visited North America from 1679 to 1680 to scout out a potential colony. An officer of the Long Island Historical Society found the manuscript in a bookstore in Amsterdam. The manuscript is currently the property of the Long Island Historical Society.
