MALINA, JUDITH. [1948–1968] Immigrant of a German- Jewish family, she married Julian Beck, a modern expressionist painter; later, they, cofounded the Living Theater. Together they were pioneers of experimental drama. They had an open marriage. She had affairs with several men, notably James Agee, and a one- sided infatuation with the mythologist Joseph Campbell.
