RANOUS, DORA. [1880] An erudite young actress who spent her early years in Augustin Daly’s theatrical company. She later gained fame as a translator of French and Italian literature into English. Ranous’s performance in The Middy is chronicled in Diary of a Daly Débutante. New York, Duffield and Company, 1910.
