WEILL, KURT. [1950] German-Jewish composer, best known for The Threepenny Opera with dramatist Bertolt Brecht. He immigrated with wife, singer-actress Lotte Lenya, to America in 1935 where he became a naturalized citizen and composed such Broadway works as Lady in the Dark and Street Scene.
